EXPERIENCE
Working currently with the Hardware Support Department for the on campus computer rooms at UC Davis. Duties include (a) performing advanced hardware and software troubleshooting, component replacement, installation and repair (b) provide advanced computer consulting to faculty and staff and consulting to internal staff on both Mac and PC operating systems (c) assist Computer Room Consultants in troubleshooting software and hardware in computer classrooms (d) Assist in the administration of the department's web server as needed (e) Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of a new equipment database system using database software. Basis for selection for hardware support was (1) good problem solving skills (2) good communication skills (3) high level of responsibility and professionalism.
Worked as a computer room consultant at UC Davis and am independently responsible for (a) media checkout system involving high volumes (b) distribution of audio / video instructional materials to the campus community (c) ongoing feedback interface with faculty and instructors on material reservation process systems (d) post processing of checked out materials (e) troubleshooting of daily computer room issues with faculty (f) logging of returns and filing away the returned media materials (g) creation of records and logs of new arrivals of media materials (h) duplication of audio / video materials for checkout purposes (i) operation and troubleshooting of audio / video equipment. Basis for selection for above computer consultant job was (1) diligent organizational capabilities (2) familiarity with media types and distribution concepts and (3) exposure to prior audio / video equipments (4) demonstrated advanced computer software and hardware skills.
Worked at the Winchester Mystery House as a tour guide. Selection process for this was very competitive with impromptu oratorical skills as a mandatory requirement. Gave one-hour tour of the mystery house eight times a day, dealt and interfaced with 200 people or more everyday. Also performed supplementary tasks of managerial duties such as organizing time tables and training new guides. SKILLS Intermediate Programming Capable of programming at an intermediate level after taking 5 courses at UC Davis. Familiarity with principles and use of object-oriented programming in C++, design and analysis of data structures for a variety of applications and basic computer architecture. Can program in C, C++, Java, Python, and PHP. Low Level Circuit Theory Ability to design circuits at a theoretical level after completing 4 courses. Familiarity with theory, application, and design of analog circuits, operation of bipolar and field-effect transistors, basic semiconductor device fundamentals, and basic digital system design.
