Professional Experience

System Administrator - Health Sciences Centre - January 2004 - Present

The 100 plus servers at HSC are my responsibility. From patch management to availability to redundancy. Every aspect of these servers is under my care and, as such, I get to be involved in a very diverse range of projects. From aiding in the architecture of multimillion dollar critical patient service applications to the more mundane "ensure everything is working as it should" and communicating with vendors. There is always more than enough to do and I am always more than up to the task. I am primarily managing NT-based servers and services such as email, databases, webservers and blade servers, though there are some Linux, Unix and Novell boxes in the datacenters as well. In addition, I look after connectors and interfaces to various other organizations which enable our employees to share files, calendars and services.

Director of IS / IT - Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship - January 2000-January 2004

In this position as the leader of all technical vision and projects at TACF, it was my job to increase value by producing superior software which solved real problems and brought real efficiencies to our company. I lead the development of Point of Sale, CRM, Content Management, Booking, Shipping & Receiving and HR packages. The majority of my role in leading the development was to write specs, do demos, present to the Board of Directors and our partners CEO's and to ensure that all code met with corporate standards. In addition I was responsible for system uptime, desktop and support services, hiring and budgeting.

Lead Developer - Servant Tech Communications - June 1999-January 2000

My position in this dot com was to write the specs and create mobile, server and PDA applications in Delphi, VB, ASP and PHP which enabled hospitals to decrease wait times, as well as putting patient data at doctor's finger tips. I also created applications which allowed interoperability with legacy hospital systems (including ATD and ICD systems), to leverage existing infrastructure and make the data available to backoffice staff.
