Simulation of Dynamic Memory Allocation. (C programming)

Program is to simulate dynamic memory allocation in a heap. Memory is allocated in block of bytes. A Linked list is used to maintain non-continuous allocation of memory. A lookup table is used to store pointer’s to free memory space. Preprogram can also output blocks of memory allocated and the data stored in them and also blocks of memory that are available.

Mining of User browsing in video databases (technologies used: JDBC, Postgre SQL?)

This project is to mine the user browsing patterns of video clippings and determine the attributes that interest the user so that a highlight package of clippings can be generated. A database was created using Postgre SQL? to store details about clipping of various baseball games. An algorithm was developed as part of project to select video clippings that might be of interest to user from the database and generate a highlights package based upon the user-browsing pattern. A research paper was also written as part of the project and sent to The 2004 IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MULTIMEDIA AND EXPO (ICME’2004).

Temperature-controller (Technologies used: CORBA, JAVA, C++, MICO ORB, ORBACUS)

This project is to develop a CORBA-based client-server application to monitor and control the temperature in a building. The Interface was written in Interface Definition Language. The Server program that services all requests for temperature control was written using JAVA and interfaces the ORBACUS Object Request Broker (ORB). The client program to send requests to devices, display a report about the devices, set temperature and monitor devices was implemented using C++ and interfaces the MICO Object request Broker (ORB). The project demonstrates the interoperability among different OR Bs? and different implementation languages.

On-line movie ticket booking (technologies used: HTML, Java Servlets, Postgre SQL?, Java Script? ; Project members: 3 )

Implemented a Web application to book tickets for thirteen theaters in a movie complex. The application provides features such as the ability to browse movies that are running in each of the theaters, show seats available for each show for the next 7 days for a movie, book seats based on user's choice, one-time registration of user, online credit-card payment.

Web-Certificate Authority (technologies used: HTML, Java Servlets, Postgre SQL?)

Web application that allows users to register for service and allow them to store their public key, private key in a central database and certify the keys of other users. Users can also verify the message sent by registered users by using public key encryption algorithm and display the users that have certified for the public key.
