Cheap Brochure Printing Some commonly asked questions: What is the point of Resume Wiki? Resume Wiki exists as a place for you to get real feedback on your resume. You post your resume and others comment or edit it to help you out. How will people know what I'm looking for? Well, after you create your profile, they should have a fairly solid idea what you are looking to get out of your resume. The more detail you provide in your profile, the more applicable your resume will be. So people will be able to edit my resume?! Yes, they will. Calm down though, Resume Wiki keeps a copy of every edit for you, so that if you don't like an edit, you can easily roll your resume back to a previous state. Also, not all reviewers will edit your resume, many will simply leave you comments and suggestions below your resume. What if I don't know what to include in my resume? Yeah, most of us have that problem: where to start? That's why we have compiled the Resume Writing page, as well as the Recruiting Blogs listing. These should help you get a fairly quick perspective which extends beyond the basic templates you'll find in most books. How do I stay updated on changes to my resume? At the top right of every page is an orange "XML" icon. This is to indicate the XML Feed for that page. Every page has it's very own XML Feed. You can subscribe to this in your favourite XML Aggregator (like Blog Lines?), and it will notify you of updates to your resume. How do I protect my personal information? The easiest place to look is our Privacy Issues page. It probably outlines all of your concerns. The short answer is that you don't need to divulge anything personal in order to make use of Resume Wiki. Feel free to post your resume as Jane Doe. Just be aware that if any recruiters do see your resume, they will not be able to contact you through anything but Comments to your resume. What if this page didn't answer my question? Well, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions. |
